Thankful November: Freedom
On a day where I get to go stand in line and place my vote for who I think should be the country’s next President, I can’t help but be thankful for my freedom. As a woman, this is a right that has been afforded to my gender for less than 100 years, so I don’t take it lightly that I am able to go and exercise that privilege today and in every subsequent election.
I am thankful to live in a country where I have the ability to worship God in complete freedom, and to express my love for Him as publicly as I want.
I am thankful that whoever wins the election, it will be someone who was chosen by the people, and that we are given a voice of democracy in order to take pride and possession in our country and the way it operates.
Thank you, Lord, for my freedom. More so than even my freedom of speech, my freedom from the bondage of my past, my sin, and my addictions. You have set me free, and so today, I shout out my freedom and give You praise for releasing me from the things that have held me back.
Let’s all take a moment today and thank God for our freedom!
