Seeking Direction: THIS is the way

In ministry, I don’t think there is a single question or concern that people come to us with more than that of finding God’s will for their lives. I have prayed with countless men and women who are seeking to discern God’s direction for their paths. It can seem like such an elusive and daunting process, because life can give us so many different ways to go, and yet, as Christ-followers, we want to do only what it is that He wants us to do. Chances are, that we’ve seen how poorly things go when we try to decipher life on our own without His hand of direction, and we know that it’s so much better to have His “okay” in the long run.

This morning I came upon a verse of such comfort on this very subject:

Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,
“This is the way, walk in it,”
Whenever you turn to the right hand
Or whenever you turn to the left.

– Isaiah 30:21

 

This is my prayer for all of us (yes, I need to hear His voice, too!) who are seeking His will today. That we would allow our spiritual ears to be open to hearing Him, and that His voice would be this clear. That we would literally hear Him tell us, “This is the way…now walk.”
