Inspiration: The Olympics

It’s been far too long since I’ve done an Inspiration Friday post, and I couldn’t think of a better time to jump back in than in the midst of the Olympics!

How can you watch the Olympics and not be inspired? To see men and women who have dedicated their lives to a single cause finally reach their goal and fulfill their dreams just gives me all kinds of inspiration. It makes me want to finish that book, complete my task list, and achieve greatness. There is something to the simplicity of living your life in pursuit of what you truly believe to be your sole destiny that makes me want to tear away all the superfluous and time-robbing things in my life that distract me from my purposes. I look at these amazing athletes and see the kind of determination that, if applied to some of the world’s biggest problems, could quite literally change the world!

Congratulations to all of the talented athletes for just making it to the Olympics. Many others were left behind in gyms around the world, desperate for the opportunity that you achieved. Just being there is an accomplishment the likes of which many never even dare to aspire. Thank you for your determination – it is motivating me and so many others! Keep up the good work!
