Unexpected Joy

 In joy, trials

This year, I have been praying that it would be a year of joy. And it has been. Except not at all in the way I assumed it would be.

When I asked for a year of joy, I assumed it would be a year full of victories and laughter and celebration. What I failed to anticipate, however, is that in order to have victories, there has to be battles. I had forgotten that while “…weeping may endure for a night,”  “…joy cometh in the morning” (Psalm 30:5).

If you are in the midst of a scary situation, it may not seem like you’re also being set up for a season of joy – but you are! Joy comes in ways we don’t expect it to! Get ready, because your joy is coming!
