Catching Up

 In Life

Hello!

You’ll have to forgive me for a small bout of “blog neglect,” as the past few weeks of life have been quite a bit more hectic than usual. No need to worry, because I’m back, and here to catch you up on all things that have been going on in the life of Lis recently:

God                                                                                                                                                      It seems like this year has been all about getting back to the basics: integrity, consistency, and discipline. Sounds simple, but can be super painful. Basics are the hard parts. Getting our minds set on Him, fighting the flesh, and being consistent in doing so? Lifelong, daily battle. I’m currently leading Beth Moore’s Daniel study with our Wednesday morning ladies Bible study group, and boy, is it challenging. I’m realizing, though, that God needs to know that He can trust us before He gives us more than what He’s already given us. More on that later.

Family                                                                                                                                                     As usual, family life is beautiful, crazy, full, and all-consuming. Joey is officially 3 and a half (that half is extremely important), and thriving in his preschool. He talks and talks and talks. As a mom, it’s pretty cool to be able to exchange dialogue with my little guy and hear all about what’s going on in that brilliant mind of his. Gavin is now a 9 month old package of squishy goodness. He is loving all the new table foods that he gets to experience, and has a hunger for food that is only matched by his hunger for love. Jason continues in his bid for the Husband of the Year title, and never ceases to amaze and surprise me. I am blessed.

Life                                                                                                                                                   This past week was one of my favorite annual events – Access’ Chocolate & Coffee night for ladies! I love getting together with women. I love the freedom that women find in being able to find another woman who they can relate to and watching as they open up to each other. Also, I just love chocolate and coffee. True story. I had the privilege to share and to tell the ladies that the only defining label we need to be concerned with is our label as God’s children. It was also a special treat that my mom got to be there, all the way from NYC! The following day, we got to go to a very special 4D ultrasound with my sister and her husband, who are expecting my sweet nephew in June! Such a treat!

I’m looking forward to journeying with you all once more. Sorry for the delay! I should be back to regular updates once again for now and in the foreseeable future.
