For the Sake of the World

 In purpose

We sang the most amazing song at Access this past Sunday. The chorus goes like this:

For the sake of the world, burn like a fire in me.
Light a flame in my soul for every eye to see.

I want God’s flame to burn in me and burn my pain into purpose. Why? For the sake of the world. I don’t want to have gone through some of the darker days I’ve experienced just to let them be solely for my own reflection. No! I’ve heard it said over and over that your pain points to your purpose, and I fully agree. The pains of cancer, of depression, of losing a child – they have shown me toward various facets of my calling. I write to you today out of my places of pain, and hope that, in doing so, I am fulfilling my purpose to help others.

I want this mantra to remain with me always: for the sake of the world. I want to see God’s glory in my life – for the sake of the world. I want to be a living miracle – for the sake of the world. I want to be a daily reflection of the love and heart of God – for the sake of the world.

Let’s remember those who still don’t know Him. Let’s try to live our lives in such a way as to realize our purpose in trying to show the world God’s love and salvation. Let’s do it all for the sake of the world!
